We never imagined...

... that our appeal for book donations for our library would be so successful!
Article text
When we put out an appeal at the end of last year for book donations for Oundle Library we hoped people would respond. But we've been bowled over by everyone's generosity. The library has been given hundreds and hundreds of wonderful books - from babies' board books to adult non-fiction, and everything else in between.

Library staff have sorted through bags and boxes of donations and taken the pick to add to the library catalogue. In the last couple of months they've added nearly 1,000 books to the catalogue and these are now on the shelves for people to borrow.

When we've been given books that are already on the catalogue, or which might not be in pristine condition, we are still able to sell these and raise money for improving your library.

A huge thank you to everyone who's given us books. And if you have unwanted books that are in excellent condition, please do consider donating them to the library. We are still waiting to hear what the Library Service's book buying budget will be for the next financial year (2019-2020), but we're pretty sure that donated books will play an important role in keeping our library well-stocked for the immediate future.
